Habit formation, writing, working out, and intermittent fasting.

Recently I've been thinking a lot about Maneesh Sethi's post about habits, he talks about his goal to write 750 words a day--at first this seemed impressive to me...now, well i do this every day, it's the first thing I do after going to the bathroom and having some water. Charles Duhigg talks about cornerstone habits in his book--and they quote a lot of research showing how a cornerstone habit can lead to the formation of other habits, and then slowly but surely people's lives take a turn for the best.
I'm on a plane headed to Miami, and my girlfriend is asleep next to me. I've called 10 people, connected with 5 of those, and yet, I've never before been able to do this. My resourcefulness is going up. it doesn't matter about the money it matters about the ability to get things done.
so specifically what did I do to overcome my fears and do two things:

1) Call people I was terrified to call before?
2) Get to the gym 4x per week while intermittent fasting?

First: These are all tied to my morning routine and cornerstone habits.
I wake up everyday and write three pages. I used to do this in the worst way--I would wake up and lay on my bed still, and try not to fall asleep while I wrote these pages. Eventually I got myself closer--I would sit up and then eventually I would do it after a high protein breakfast. finally recently, my routine looks like this

1) wake up
2) bathroom
3) water
4) write three pages
5) get dressed
6) take 10 g of BCAA
7) get on my bike and go to the gym

I've tried intermittent fasting before---usually i would sabotage myself. not lately, because I was able to just make it part of my routine.
Two other random thoughts on Intermittent fasting: I’ve been doing IF for about 6 years, and I don’t think it’s very effective for fat loss.
If you are going to intermittent fast, read up on ghrelin and how it affects your hunger levels and timing.
I recommend moving your breakfast by 30 minutes everyday until you reach noon.  Rather than doing what I did:  wake up at 7am, think “I’msohungryI’msohungryI’msohungryI’msohungry” till 12pm, then eat 2000 calories in a sitting and feeling bloated for hours.

In summary, go slow, form one habit at a time, build on them. Learning about calling people consistently will wait for another day.
