Doing things when you're feeling low?

This morning, after too little sleep and too much sugar and booze yesterday, I successfully wrote three pages freehand, as I’ve done for the last seven months.

I’m not here to offer some inspirational motivational hype up speech, which has its place. Rather, just a small tweak about making things easier.

I really just had zero will to write my pages. Sitting with a coffee in my hand, I felt like a truck had hit me. All that being said, I decided I wanted to do my pages, because I always feel a little bit better after just brain dumping on the page.

so...how to actually make it happen when you’re at a low point?  Well this may sound silly, but indulge yourself. I asked, what would be the most lo fi, easiest crappiest way to do this?

The answer was lying on my stomach, my head on my left arm, my right hand writing...really barely dragging the pen across the page.

As I write this it sounds so silly and trite, but to me it’s about the larger idea of often over estimating ourselves, our own motivation, our drive, and honestly how much we give a F*** about our goals and dreams when it comes to our worst days and we feel like absolute garbage.

So, my question for you: if you’re trying to do something. What is the easiest, gentlest, kindest, simplest way to do it? What’s just “good enough” so that you can get on with it?
