No more video editors

Perhaps in the not so distant future there will be no need to edit videos any more. 

​The ability to automate a process is becoming easier, and more widely spread every day/week/year. Things become templates, processes become templates.

I do find it fascinating to work with college students and compare my experience to theirs.  Now more than ever the focus of education needs to shift towards cultivating people who think critically. 

I feel this is related to creative endeavors like video editing because to create a pretty good video vs. an exceptional detail is slowly becoming less about crazy specific knowledge of a program like adobe premiere pro, and a lot more about being able to think critically about things like story arc, character development and the human experience. 

Contrast these above with things like: which font to use, (templates abound) where exactly to cut the scene - usually decided in advance...and so on. 

All that said, until then I will be here editing my videos and figuring out how to get machines to do this part for me so I can spend more time dreaming up silly characters, impressions and acting in scenes.
